My Library
This page contains articles and essays by various writers whose ideas I think are very important and which have influenced me greatly both as an author and as an individual. Some of the articles are about writing, while others have more to do with theology or various other topics. I have tried to describe briefly what each article is about.
I will be adding more content as I come across it, so this page is likely to keep growing by leaps and bounds for quite a while.

On Fairy Stories - J.R.R. Tolkien
This is probably the single most influential and important essay ever written concerning fantasy literature. It discusses what fantasy is and is not, the purposes for which it is written, how it differs from other types of literature, and the attitudes people have about it. It's a fairly long and dense article and has to be read more than once to fully absorb it all, but it's well worth studying.
The Weight of Glory - C.S. Lewis
In this essay, C.S. Lewis talks about the deepest desires of the human heart and how these things are a clue about what God is like.
The Poison of Subjectivism- C.S. Lewis
This essay analyzes the modern notion that values are subjective, or in other words, that all value-statements are really just statements about the speaker's personal tastes and feelings. This idea is contrasted with the opposite notion that certain things are true regardless of whether anyone feels that way or not.
Essay on Forgiveness - C.S. Lewis
This one is fairly self-explanatory.
